An improved tool is provided for the removal of tubes from heat exchangers. First a mandrel is threaded into the end of a tube. The present tool is then fitted over the mandrel and is responsive to trigger-actuated hydraulic and/or pneumatic control means to automatically cause the tool to grip the mandrel and thereafter move the mandrel with its attached tube away from the tube sheet of the heat exchanger.

The device comprises a cylinder 1, a gland ring 2, a back plate or also a ring of a gland 3, a rear connecting element 4 and a locking device or a retainer of the jaws 5. The parts are assembled and connected to each other stationary, but with the possibility of separation. The design includes a handle 6, which allows to hold the device by its upper part with the help of a device which is not represented and has a cable and a pulley.
 Inside the cylinder 1, the clamping piston 7 is mounted for movement on one side, having a head 8, one part in the form of a sleeve 9 facing the jaws and the other part c. the form of the sleeve 10 facing the board, and on the other hand, removing the piston 11, also having a head 12 and a sleeve 13, as well as seals 14.
The device has a sponge 15 dl. clamping rods, which are held in the divorced position with the help of springs 16. Sponges 15 are made with conical surfaces 17, interconnected. and surface carriers 18.
The tube adapter 19 is fixed on the piston 11. The device includes a rod 20 with external thread, which is screwed into the tube of the heat exchanger 21, which must be removed, for example, using a hammer wrench or a ratchet wrench. In such a case, the rod is inserted into the device so that the tube 19 rests against the plate 22 for the heat exchanger tubes.

5 movement of the rod and tube during extraction. We consider it necessary to note that the hydraulic pressure in chamber 31 causes the pistons 7 and 11 to separate, i.e., keep the jaws in the gripping position of the rod, moving them to the left, which performs the extraction operation.
